Brand identity development, animations and webdesign for Howler Audio, a startup company that will soon launch their first product: the Howler recorder+streamer. This product will let DJs, artists and musicians effortlessly record or livestream DJ-sets, jam sessions, band gigs in high-quality audio and share with the world. Its compact size, plug-and-play setup, and fail-safe recording makes it perfect to use on the go.

Logo

The name Howler comes from the Howler monkey, known for its loud calls. This loudness is shown in the all-caps “shouting” nature of the logo. It is also represented by the chromatic abberation of the O, invoking a notion of vibration, activity, and motion. The O itself is elongated as a nod to the connectivity of the Howler recorder+streamer, which uses a USB-C cable to connect to devices when streaming or exporting recordings.

Animation

For the Kickstarter campaign and the website the idea was to draw attention to the features of the Howler by using looping videos and GIFs. A number of different animations were made for the Kickstarter campaign, and a comprehensive overview of the Howler in different use cases was created for the Howler Audio website.

Website

The Howler Audio website is continually being developed, with content being added and changed weekly. After product launch, the website will have the option to order the Howler recorder+streamer in a webshop as well. Besides coloring and typography, the website incorporates aspects of the logo in its angled and brightly colored areas, and in the styling of the buttons.
